My Stinger went head first into the swimming pool and I thought I'd lost the best flashlight I ever had!
"I am an outfitter from Texas who hunts all across the Southwest and Mexico. We hunt in some remote locations where a reliable, rugged flashlight is a must. I have never had a light that I like as much as my new Strion LED. I was at outfitter’s store a while back, and was looking at the lights. I had a Streamlight Stinger mounted in my truck for years and really liked it. I started reading the specs on the Strion box. The fact that it could last over 7 hours and was 160 lumens really caught my attention. I usually stay away from rechargeables but I am tired of buying cases of 123 batteries. So I bought it … and boy am I glad I did! On the first full charge, it lasted over 3 hours of continuous use, never turning off. I recharged it fully and it only took about an hour and a half. It is the brightest compact light that I have ever owned. I could not be happier. If it holds up to hard use like I think it will, ya'll have a new Streamlight loyal customer. Thanks!" Troy Calaway “My Streamlight SL-20X has been working with me in a steel mill nearly every day for over 15 years. It's hard to imagine harsher conditions anywhere else. This light has been dropped off of 40' crane runways, into sluiceways and pits (to name a few things), seen extremes of hot and cold, and banged around every way imaginable. Although it looks a bit weathered, it still works like new.” Richard C. Burns Jr. "I just got back from yet another trip on the road, this time to northern Iraq. For the last 340+ days, your Stylus Pro pen light LED has been tucked into my ankle pocket providing instant access. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used it, but I can tell you that it’s been so often that I successfully lost the clip it came with and have worn through the rubber coating over the button that turns it on and off. Thanks for such an awesome and reliable light. Power generation is still a huge challenge here, so having light at my fingertips was invaluable. I’ll keep it in my pack for my next trip to Afghanistan, probably around next summer. Keep throwing the right kind of products out there, they’re worth it." ANDREW J. "AJ" BRILLA, Capt, USAF "In July of 2009, while chasing a suspect in the desert, I lost my Streamlight Stinger flashlight. Because we were so far out in the desert, I picked up a patrol officer to take with me in my truck for backup. We were about an hour into the desert when it started getting dark. The patrol officer failed to bring a flashlight. I gave him my trusty Stinger to use. We finally caught up with the suspect and after a small struggle in the desert the suspect was in custody. We were so far out into the desert it took a long time to make our way back to a dirt road which took us back into town. When I dropped the patrol officer at his vehicle, he realized that somewhere in the chase, in that vast desert he had lost my flashlight. Here is where the story gets good. Last week, I received a phone call from a man who had been out in the desert riding his horse. As he was riding, he looked down and saw the tip of a black metal object buried in the dirt. He picked it up and it was a Streamlight Stinger flashlight with my name, agency and badge number on it. The battery was very low, but when you hit the button, the light still came on. The Stinger was in the desert for a year. Buried by rain, baked in the desert heat, and it still worked. I have been a cop a long time (19 years) and I have had 4 flashlights (3 still in use), all of them have been Streamlights. Thanks for making such a tough product for a tough job."
"I’m a sales rep for Streamlight, so I’ve heard lots of stories about Streamlight products surviving all kinds of catastrophes – from buildings collapsing on them to fires engulfing them. Still, when an SUV ran over my HID LiteBox, I never expected it to keep right on shining. I had just returned from working a 3-day show for one of my distributors. I had unloaded my truck in the garage and was in the process of putting my samples and show equipment away. My wife and daughter walked into the garage with the HID Litebox and its newly created, taco-shaped bezel and reflector; and they asked how much it was going to cost to replace the light. It turns out that I had left the light in the pathway of the my wife's 4250 lb Nissan Murano and the right front tire got the best of it. The lens shattered, glass went everywhere and everyone expected the LiteBox to be useless. But when we switched it on, much to our amazement, it still worked! These really are incredible products!" Ken Brown "For starters, this isn't some pathetic attempt at getting free stuff, just a little testimonial. I work at a metal recyclers and always come across unique stuff. An older Streamlight Scorpion recently came down the line, beat to hell. This thing went through a car shredder, sat in a 500 ton pile of shredded metal, oil, gas, dirt and whatever else was in there. It went through a media/water bath and the first time I saw it, it was coming down a conveyor belt wincing out a very dim beam. I respect anybody that can take a good beating and still crack a crooked smile right after. I took it home cleaned the media and water out and straightened some of the bent parts. I bought new batteries the next day and that thing gave out a decent beam. Pretty amazing!" Jeremy S. Hall "Two years ago I was involved in a major warehouse fire here in Knoxville, TN. I sustained 2d and 3d degree burns in what arson investigators later estimated to be +1100° fire. During an attempt to slide down a charged fire hose to safety, I fell four stories onto a concrete sidewalk, breaking my back. I am happy to say that I survived that fire and am still serving the City of Knoxville. My Streamlight Survivor lived up to its name and also made it through the fire. It's not very pretty to look at (like me), but it can still do the job. It survived temperatures in excess of 1100 degrees (which melted in the faceplate of my airpack and trashed my helmet and bunker gear) and a four-story fall onto concrete. Before bailing out, I used the Survivor to signal my position from a window that was pouring dense black smoke. Firefighter a hundred yards away said they saw that light through the smoke from that window. I just wanted to thank you for making such a tough light." Jeff Kindrick "I've been working in the pest control industry for 21 years. Inspections are 90 % of the job and a great flashlight is a must. I've been using my Stinger for about a year now with no problems – best flashlight I've ever used! The other day I was inspecting under a wooded deck, when I stood up I put the flashlight in my back pocket and proceeded to walk next to the deck and the swimming pool. The flashlight fell out of my pocket and rolled right into the swimming pool!! "Oh noo!!" It turned on and was flashing underwater. I hurried and got the pool net and scooped it up out of the water. I took the lens off and the battery out, dried it off, reassembled it and pow!! It worked perfectly. I just wanted to take the time to tell you in my professional opinion the Streamlight Stinger is the best flashlight on the market!!"
